Evaluation of Thin Film Microextraction for trace elemental analysis of liquid samples using LIBS detection

An analytical methodology based in the combination of Thin Film Microextraction with Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (TFME-LIBS) was investigated, for first time, detection Cu, Cr, Ni and Pb aqueous solutions. In this methodology, analytes were extracted a thin film adsorbent material deposited on solid support, which introduced sample to analyse. After extraction, retained analysed by LIBS. order obtain films useful microextraction step, two different experimental procedures generation, denoted as Drop Casting Deposition Mould Deposition, evaluated. both cases, graphene oxide used material. The mould deposition procedure found produce more homogeneous layers, leading uniform distribution adsorbed surface. Experimental parameters affecting TFME procedure, such amount extraction studied. Under optimum conditions, figures merit proposed TFME-LIBS method evaluated, limits ranging from 41 ?g kg?1 52 kg?1. Method trueness, evaluated analysis real bottle water, led recovery values about 70%, indicating existence strong matrix effects probably due presence major cations water. 50% dilution deionized recoveries improved 100%–108%.
